Easy Clean-Up
Cleaning your Stick Blender is easy! To simplify cleaning, rinse the prep bowl, cover and blade immediately after use, so that food won't dry onto them. The blending shaft, whisk head, chopper/grinder bowl and mixing cup are dishwasher safe. Everything else wipes clean with a damp cloth.
Whisk Tips
Use the whisk attachment for beating heavy cream or egg whites. It may also be used for any task that you would normally whisk by hand, like crepe batters or eggs for omelets. For best results when beating heavy cream, use a chilled bowl and chill the whisk attachment.
Reversible Blade
The Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender chopper/grinder attachment is equipped with a reversible blade. This blade is sharp on one side and blunt on the other. The blade is attached to a plastic ring which slides over the blade assembly shaft, so it can be easily turned over to select the appropriate blade.
Blending & Mixing
The specially designed blade is for mixing and stirring all kinds of foods, including salad dressings, powdered drink products, and sauces. It is ideal for combining dry ingredients, and can be used to emulsify mayonnaise, too. This blade mixes and stirs while adding only a minimum of air to your mixture. A gentle up-and-down motion is all you need to make the most flavorful, full-bodied liquid recipes. Be careful never to remove the Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender from the liquid while in operation.
Features and Benefits
Low/High Two Speed Power Button: Allows you to activate the hand blender at the touch of a button. Simply press and hold down the Low or High button to blend or pulse. Once the button is released, blending will stop.

Whisk Attachment: The full-size Chef's Whisk attachment snaps into the motor body housing. This attachment is great for whipping up your favorite creams and toppings for waffles and desserts.
Chopper/Grinder Attachment: Chop, mince and grind hard cheese, onions, nuts, chocolate, carrots and more with the Cuisinart chopper/grinder attachment. The chopper/grinder attaches to the blender motor body in place of the blender shaft or whisk attachment.
Mixing Cup: 2-cup blending cup is microwave and dishwasher safe. Use this container to blend drinks, shakes, salad dressings and more. Designed for easy gripping and drip-free pouring.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2013Color: Stainless Steel/BlackSize: 2018Style: NewVerified PurchaseI had a 7 cup CFP and upgraded to the 14 cup Cuisinart Food Processor LOVE IT for slicing and shredding. WOW! Now I have the Cuisinart Smart Stick IMMERSION Blender my extended arm in the kitchen. As-soon-as I unboxed it I made a smoothie with frozen banana and strawberries with protein powder. I used the small CHOPPER/GRINDER to process the frozen strawberries to the right texture. I used the plastic measure cup to blend the milk and frozen banana with the HAND BLENDER. Made a wonderful smoothie just the way I like it! Up until this point I used my Large 14 cup Cuisinart Food Processor as a multi-purpose machine-love it. But now I can use the 32 Oz. malt/milkshake CUP that I also purchase per suggestion from AMAZON to mix a fantastic smoothie. This hand blender so far is a really good thing! The cord is a good length the motor has two speeds and is very good for intended use and easy and less clean up. I have arthritis and just can't mix, chop, shred and blend like I used to. Now I have an extended arm in the kitchen! Will update since I have not used the WHISK; but I will let you know Love Cuisinart. It still seems to be made well even though it is made in china. I really would prefer to by made in USA. Thanks everyone for the helpful comments and reviews. [I really liked the video review by a reviewer.] This was a good price with the AMAZON PRIME shipping.
Update: I have since used the whisk! I whisked two egg whites for a meringue topping. The egg whites whipped beautifully into peaks. I used to whip and whisk by hand; but, with this arthritic shoulder I could never have done such a great job as this Cuisinart Smart Stick.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2015Color: Stainless Steel/BlackSize: 2018Style: NewVerified PurchaseThis is my third Cuisinart stick blender. I use it to make soap -- 15lb batches at a time and my stick blender gets a lot of use. This product doesn't splash the caustic soap and lye all over while I use it, whereas other stick blender's I've tried splash the contents of my soap pot dangerously. Previously my cuisineart stick blenders have lasted at least 5 years with heavy use and I don't expect anything different from this one. This is a quality product.
I've used the chopper attachment successfully but it isn't something I use often. The one I had before had a plastic bit break off that made it impossible to use. This one seems to be made of a different material, so I think that issue might be corrected by the manufacturer.
The blade on this is super sharp so be careful when you wash it.
All in all, a good product for blending and chopping small amounts of vegetables. Great for turning a vegetable soup into a cream soup.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2015Color: Stainless Steel/BlackSize: 2018Style: NewVerified PurchaseI just purchased Smart Stick Blender Model CSB-79. I haven't used it enough to comment on durability, but the design, materials, and function are all excellent. An interesting feature is that the cutting blade for the auxiliary chopper/cutting bowl is reversible, depending on what foods are being processed. Unfortunately, the instructions how to mount and reverse the blade are ambiguous and potentially dangerous. If Cuisinart is offering this feature, I feel they should provide clearer instructions how to use it.
The blade has the word "SHARP" imprinted on it. The instructions state: "Assemble the blade with this side up to use the sharp edge". There are illustrations apparently showing the blade in the "sharp" and "blunt" orientations; however, the two diagrams are actually identical, the one being rotated 180 degrees from the other. I incorrectly interpreted the diagrams as showing the blade already mounted on the spindle... a critical error. This would imply it had been flipped upside down. If you would mount the blade ring in this way, it will actually be in its "blunt" orientation.
Of course, I felt a bit embarrassed once I figured it out, but even in retrospect, the instructions are unnecessarily ambiguous. They use the words "side" and "edge" interchangeably and, therefore, ambiguously. They use the terms "blunt" and "dull" interchangeably. They should choose one or the other for consistency. They refer to the plastic mounting spindle as a "sheath". It's not abundantly clear what is meant by the "hub holding ribs (grips)". And, finally, having misinterpreted the illustration, it wasn't apparent (to me) that "up" refers solely to its operating orientation.
The most serious consequence of this is that lacking clear instructions, it is very (!) easy to cut yourself on the "razor sharp" blade edge,... a hazard I can personally attest to.
In any case, here are my instructions, modified from Cuisinart, but with my recommended terminology. (These would have worked for me. The "hub nubs" would need to be labeled on a diagram, which they are not currently.)
"To mount the cutting blade on the plastic mounting spindle, stand the spindle vertically on a flat surface in its operating orientation. Holding the blade ring CAREFULLY by the "hub nubs", slide the ring downward to the base of the spindle. For cutting with the sharp edge, the side labeled "SHARP" should face upward (toward the top of the spindle). For cutting with the blunt edge, the side labeled "SHARP" should face downward (toward the base of the spindle). Then, while holding spindle with one hand, and the hub nubs with the other hand, CAREFULLY apply a slight clockwise rotation to the blade ring to lock it into position. To remove the blade, rotate the blade ring counterclockwise, then lift to remove. WARNING: DO NOT ALLOW FINGERS TO CONTACT THE RAZOR-SHARP CUTTING EDGE. THE RISK OF INJURY IS POTENTIALLY GREATER WHEN REMOVING THE BLADE RING THAN WHEN INSTALLING IT."
- Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2014Color: Stainless Steel/BlackSize: 2018Style: NewVerified PurchaseThis is a terrific little set for all skill levels, and I use one or the other almost every day. I love making a big batch of salad dressing and pouring it into a jar to last me the week (handy little spout on the beaker!), but I use them for lots of more substantial dishes and they work beautifully. I've found that throwing whole cloves of garlic in is not the best, as the blender won't pulverize them like I would hope. Just cut cloves, or similar ingredients, into smaller pieces before chucking them in.
I used the chopper blender to make butternut squash ravioli from scratch. I never thought I could call that recipe easy, but thanks to the blender it was so simple! I also use these for spreads, dips, aioli, hot sauce, smoothies and soup. I have an outlet by the stove, so I sautee the vegetables, throw in the stock, turn off the heat for a minute, and purée right in my soup pot with the immersion blender. And you know what else? Try it for beating eggs. You've never had a fluffier omelet.
My favorite part is that cleanup is a cinch. Unless I'm working with something sticky, I can usually just detach the lower portion, rinse it and put it in the drying rack.
These blenders have made cooking easier for me, which encourages me to cook at home and try new recipes. When you look at it that way, it's saving me time and money and allows me to eat healthier. Win win WIN.

3.0 out of 5 stars Safety button is the worst thing ever
Color: Stainless Steel/BlackSize: 2018Style: NewVerified PurchaseI bought this hand blender for soap making, and it very difficult to operate since you have to hold the lock button down and the speed button simultaneously so that the blades start running. For this, you have to use both hands, and even after the blades start running, they suddenly stop, and you have to unlock the device again. Since I use this hand blender with lye it is kind of dangerous having trouble operating and using both hands to start the blender. I wish there was a way to disable lock button for good
